Kenneth Albert Fisher

Kenneth Albert Fisher, 80, of 2342 W. Fisher Lane, Royalton, Illinois died at 1:45 A.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion after a long battle with cancer. 
Kenneth was born May 29, 1921 in Mill Creek, Illinois to Albert Nathaniel and Ines Isabelle (Powless) Fisher.
He married Elenora Louise Halterman May 29, 1941 in Dongola, Illinois and they celebrated 60 years together. She survives in Royalton. 
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Phyllis Fisher of Carbondale and Thomas and Debra Fisher of Royalton; a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and David Morgan of Mulkeytown; twelve grandchildren, Michael Morgan of Effingham, Brenda and Neil Nix Kingsland, GA, Cathy and Robby Hewlett of Mulkeytown, David Wayne and Crystal Morgan of Texas, Rebecca Lynn and Michael Vaughn of Carterville, Bruce and Carol Fisher of Carterville, Brett and Margie Fisher of Herrin, Nancy and Fred Pullum of Carterville, Melanie and Miles Hopper of Herrin, Mindy, Andy and Emily Fisher all of Royalton; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Irene and Roy Brammer of Mulkeytown, Corrine and George Earnhardt of Beaumont, Texas, Lillian Hunter of Marion and Shirley Bankson of Anna; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Homer and Karen Fisher of Hampshire and Harold and Marie Fisher of Tarpan Springs, FL. and two sisters-in- law, Betty Fisher of Montgomery and Thelma Fisher of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Glenn, Lowell and Paul Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a member and Deacon of the Royalton First Christian Church and had perfect attendance for almost ten years. Retired from Norge Industries in 1986 after working there thirty-three years. Kenneth also farmed his entire life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services for Mr. Fisher were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2001 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton with Brother Jack Smith officiating. Burial was at Miners Cemetery in Royalton with military rites by the Zeigler American Legion, Patrick McClellan Post 177. Visiting hours were from 6 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Fisher may be made to the Hospice of Marion V.A. Hospital.
